Unless you are constantly looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane, or you are so old you miss the more traditions type of old-style handset of long ago, I can’t see the point of owning the Novophone. I mean why would anyone want to plug a full sized old fashioned phone into their mobile phone?
As you can tell by the image, the Novophone is indeed a 60’s, 70’s style handset that you plug into your mobile phone and use the old fashioned way…but why?
According to the article over on Cnet, the Novophone features a 2.5mm jack so isn’t even compatible with the iPhone or BlackBerry handsets although there are many other mobile phones which do you a 2.5mm rather than a 3.5mm jack.
Apparently though you can purchase a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter for the Novophone so it will work with the iPhone 3GS but apparently the sound is somewhat tinny. The Novophone is available in red or black and sells for $27.95, but just why anyone would want to hand over cash for the Novophone is a bit beyond me, what do you think?
