Aside from all the shenanigans with the new Apple iPhone 4G being made public which we have posted on previously, it appears that the latest info concerning the iPhone and North of the boarder is that Apple is developing a GSM iPhone for Canada.
According to an article over on information week, this GSM iPhone will go on sale in Saskatchewan by SaskTel as the word is SaskTel is moving away from CDMA and over to GSM.
Apparently the CEO of SaskTel, Robert Watson let everyone know as he has said, “We’re building the 3G network right now, It will be up and running for July 1st — completion by the end of this year,” and then commented that “The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June timeframe and they’re going to put us on that.”
Watson also said that SaskTel’s 3G network will more than likely be the best geographical network in the world due to the size and population it will cover.
