Here we go again, more rumours and speculations rising and getting hotter by the minute. It seems that Apple are showing a great deal of interest in purchasing ARM Holdings.

The impact though could be rather serious, couldn’t it? What kind of an impact will this have on other Smartphones should this purchase succeed? We all know that Apple have an enormous space and it would supposedly cost them excuse the pun and ARM and a leg, no seriously it is said to cost around the $8 billion mark.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with ARM, they supply many of the chips which are inside the Smartphone including the iPhone and taking it in house not only would give it a huge strategic advantage over rivals but does seem to make sense all round.

An insider is reported as saying to the Evening Standard that a deal would make a lot of sense for Apple, as they could stop ARM’s technology from ending up in everyone else’s computers and gadgets. This is a wild idea and should be treated as a rumour only at this stage anyway, ARM have publicly distanced themselves from the news.
