For several years low quality cameras have dominated the mobile phone, but with the 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus in the Verizon HTC Droid Incredible it turns picture snapping into more than just an afterthought reports an article over on the street.
The Droid Incredible’s 8 megapixel camera raises the bar over the rest and threatens to drag in camera buyers that no longer require separate devices while on paper at least the Droid Incredible 8 megapixel camera is superior to the 3.2 megapixel camera of the iPhone 3GS and its 5 megapixel successor.

On the 12th of May Sprint will launch their WiMAX surfer, the HTC EVO 4G which sports the same 8 megapixel camera as the Droid Incredible, later in the year we will see the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and it’s 8.1 megapixel camera, while Nokia ups the ante with the Nokia N8 sporting a 12 megapixel camera. So will the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 4G be able to rival the big camera quality when it finally arrives?
