According to an article over on mobile syrup, Canada might be gaining the Android 2.1 OS toting HTC Legend smartphone sometime “this May/June,” and will hold exclusivity over the smartphone although it doesn’t mention just how long that exclusivity may last.
As it is Bell needs a new flagship device as they have had a fairly good run with the Palm Pre, but as with all things that run is coming to an end and thus Bell is on the lookout for something bigger and better such as the HTC legend.
Unfortunately though other than the May/June timeframe there are no exact details on a release date for the Bell HTC legend, which by the way is also destined for AT&T in the US as reported (here) and no word on any pricing as yet either, but if they do gain the HTC Legend it will be Bell’s first Android 2.1 OS smartphone.
Quick spec reminder for all you Canadians, the HTC Legend packs a 3.2 inch multitouch capacitive AMOLED touch screen, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, video recording, WiFi, Bluetooth, HTC Sense UI, 3.5mm jack and microSD expansion up to 32GB.
