For all the Android fans out there in the mobile space we have a bit of news concerning the new version of the Android operating system, Android 2.2 Froyo. We gain some insight into Android 2.2 features thanks to an article over on Gizmodo by way of Techcrunch.
So the word is Android 2.2 Froyo will support USB tethering for data connections along with being able to create WiFi hotspots, and furthermore will be much faster than Android 2.1 apparently up to 450% faster, and have full Flash support, video of which can be viewed (here)
At this current time though it isn’t known if all the carriers who offer Android 2.2 Froyo handsets will offer tethering support, as you may know the Big Blue doesn’t offer tethering for the iPhone, so maybe they won’t for their Android handsets.
Android 2.2 Froyo is expected to launch during Google’s I/O event sometime next week so it shouldn’t be too long before we know all for sure.
