iPhone Packing TD-SCDMA Requested By China Mobile
On Monday, during the World Espo in Shanghai, the general manager of the China Mobile Research Institute, Bill Huang put a request to Apple to produce an iPhone that sports TD-SCDMA so China Mobile could offer the iPhone to their half a billion subscriber’s reports an article over on telecoms.
Huang spoke at the Ericsson Business Innovation Forum and stated that the Android based Ophone, Chine Mobile’s own platform is popular but China Mobile would like the opportunity to offer the iPhone to their users. Huang said…“We look forward to LTE, which Apple will support, unlike TD-SCDMA.”
3G is a recent commercial addition in the Chinese market but Huang said that Chine Mobile would “leapfrog” to the Chinese version of 4G, which is TD-LTE.
Huang also announced that China Mobile’s music offering had made China Mobile the biggest music company in China with in excess of 80% of new Chinese songs which are released are also released on the platform.
