Personally being old I can’t say I’ve heard of Gundam figurines but apparently they are huge in Japan and apparently this year is the 30th anniversary of the Gundam figurines so what better way to celebrate than releasing a mobile phone.
According to an article over on Gizmodo by way of kotaku, Bandai (yes I’ve heard of them) has teamed with Japanese mobile phone carrier Softbank to deliver to the Japanese and Gundam collecting populace a limited edition Gunpla handset.
There’s not a great deal to go on spec wise but the Gunpla phone will sports a 12.1 megapixel OLED device that comes with pre-installed software, decals, and a 1:100 scale Gundam model kit which is actually the Gunpla phone cradle.
No doubt the device will be a big hit with the Gundam fans out there when it sees release this summer, however there is no mention of just how much the mobile phone and awesome cradle will set you back.
