Apple may be one of the big boys in town but some still tend to have a go. Apple’s public spate with Adobe of Flash springs to mind, and now apparently Google is putting in their 2 cents worth at I/O 2010 with Google engineering vice president Gundotra having a pop.
According to an article over on pocket-lint, during one of the keynote speeches, Gundotra described how he and a colleague feared for a “Draconian future” and showed a slide of a poster of 1984, which has been taken as a swipe at Apple.
Why? Because Apple used the George Orwell novel 1984 for an advert that introduced the Apple Macintosh way back in 1984. Gundotra remarked “if you believe in openness, if you believe in choice, if you believe in innovation from everyone, then welcome to Android.”
Anyway we have a couple of videos for your viewing pleasure below, the first being the Google I/O 2010 day 2 keynote with Gundotra and the other the Apple 1984 advert, so hit them up and check them out…enjoy.
