During Google I/O 2010 Adobe made a few announcements, namely the availability of Adobe Flash player 10.1 beta for Android, and now Adobe has followed with the launch of Adobe Reader for Android which is a new PDF Reader application for Android based phones.
Varun Krish of Fonearena reports that Adobe Reader for Android features multitouch gestures such as pinch and zoom, flick-scrolling and panning, double-tap zooming, landscape and portrait modes, a “reflow” mode which auto-wraps text heavy content with wide margins for easier viewing on a smaller display.
Android requirements for using Adobe reader for Android is Android OS 2.1 or above, 256MB RAM, 4.3MB disk space, and a 550 MHz processor, with Android devices being supported thus far being the Nexus One, Motorola Droid and Motorola Milestone.
Adobe does state that although they have yet to test Adobe Reader for Android on other Android based devices they expect the application to run just fine on other handsets; there is also a video demo of Adobe Reader for Android which can be viewed by hitting here.
