BlackBerry Curve 9100, Still No Signs of Release in Canada
You’d think when a mobile phone carrier says it’s going to release a smartphone and gives a rough date along with pricing for the handset, they would be able to keep that date or at least near to it, but this doesn’t seem to be the case with the BlackBerry Curve 9100.
According to an article over on mobile syrup, originally Telus sent out a press release on the 26th of April stating they were going to release the BlackBerry Curve 9100 for $29.99 on a 3 year agreement “starting in May.”
Well May is almost out there was an internal document floating around which showed the launch date being the 6th of May, but still no signs of the Blackberry Curve 9100 coming to Telus.
I’m not too sure what the hold up is with the BlackBerry Curve 9100, but the article does say that it looks like Telus is in the same boat as Rogers, Bell and Virgin as Research IN Motion delayed the device “until further notice.”
More retail stores do have dummy BlackBerry Curve 9100’s on hand but there is still no official release date from anyone including RIM, so who knows when Canadians will get their hands on the smartphone.
