When you think of Android you probably think smartphone operating system, but as with all things Google, it appears Google wants to extend their Android platform to all manner of things.
Well according to an article over on Techwatch by David, the one time, mobile phone only, operating system is now moving into the television market as Android is now set to run the Bonux digital television set top box.
Which basically means what a user sees on their TV screen will be run by Android although apparently has the appearance of an “older style small phone screen” with icons that represent applications and tasks, so is apparently a bit dated and might not be what the user expects.
The device utilises an ARM based processor which is known for running on low powAllen, and the Bonux set top box is expected to hit store shelves nearer the end of this year, no pricing as yet though.
