Mobile phone call quality on the Orange UK should now be somewhat better in the south of England as apparently Orange UK has now launched their HD Voice Service to the southern counties.
According to an article over on Electric Pig by Sam Kieldsen, Orange UK says of their new HD Voice service, it is set to “herald a new era” in the mobile phone arena, and has already been trailed in Moldova.
Orange HD Voice will now become available between Bristol, Reading and Southampton, and participating customers have already been chosen for the UK trial to test a varied range of demographic groups which include early adopters, mainstream mobile phone users and small businesses.
Orange HD Voice uses 50 to 7000Hz rather than the normal 300 to 3400Hz along with a different speech codec and this means according to Orange, HD Voice can deliver “crystal clear” call quality which gives the impression the caller is in the same room.
