In the mobile business, if you are going to invest then invest big, something which Samsung seems to be taking onboard. Samsung has a hankering to be number one in the mobile arena with smartphones I their main target area and to achieve this they are prepared to invest.
According to an article over on Intomobile by Stefan Constantinescu and by ways of an article over on Mobile Business Briefing, Samsung is to invest $2.1 billion in a new factory being constructed in South Korea which should be finished by July next year.
The new Sammy factory will then produce in the region of 30 million OLED screens a month which equates to 360 million displays for mobile phone a year, which by anyone’s reckoning is a considerable amount.
For Samsung to become the number one in the mobile space though they need to surpass Nokia which is no mean task as Nokia account for two out of every five mobile phone shipped, but some serious investment in factories is a step closer.
