As usually as soon as a new smartphone hits the mobile space and gets torn down it is usually followed by an estimation of how much the device components cost, and now this has been done with the latest device out of the Apple camp the iPhone 4.
According to Mark Raby over on i4u, electronics research group iSuppli have done the calculations and have come up with a figure of how much the iPhone 4 costs Apple, and apparently that figure is $187.51, which is apparently just $20 above that of the cost of the iPhone 3GS.
Of the iPhone 4 components iSuppli says the iPhone 4 LCD screen comes out most expensive at $28.50 while the iPhone 4 processor costs $10.75, for a detailed rundown of iPhone 4 components you can hit up the iSuppli website.
According to iSuppli analyst, Kevin Keller, with the iPhone 4, Apple “will be able to maintain the prodigious margins that have allowed it to build up a colossal cash reserve.” Nothing unusual there then is there.
