LG has now officially announced two new Android based smartphones, the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic and will follow the previous LG Optimus GT540 handset although no word on any specs for the two new handsets just yet.
According to a Kat Hannaford article over on Gizmodo, Optimus is Latin for “best” and these transformer monikered smartphones will apparently ship packing the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.
Apparently there is another “Optimus” phone from LG which is the LG Optimus Z which sports the LG corporate handle of “CYON” although no word on just when these LG Optimus handsets will see the light of day.
The President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Dr. Skott Ahn has said… “The LG Optimus Series is aimed at challenging the notion that one device can meet the needs of many. At LG, we believe in providing people with many different choices because our customers are not all alike. We want to provide devices that suit all needs and simplify people’s lives.”
