Following research by supermarket giant Tesco, they will offer 12 month contracts on all tariffs and plans as their research has showed that 1 in 4 customers would pick a shorter term contract if they were more available.
According to an article over on Mobile Today, Tesco’s research shows 48 percent of people with an 18 or 24 month contract are spending between £40- £100 on the newest devices because they cannot wait until their contract expires.
According to the Tesco research, 80 percent of those polled stated a 12 month agreement would be their ideal contract as the shorter term contract offers “more regular” device upgrades. 38 percent of those polled say that their device is considered “out of date” within a year of their contract start date.
Apparently Tesco Mobile found that 1/3 of those questioned in the survey stated that length of contract is “a ket consideration” when choosing a smartphone deal.
