The multi-year relationship between Verizon Wireless and mobile content solutions provider Motricity is to continue as both parties renew their deal for Motricity to deliver personalised user experiences over the Big Red’s smartphones and feature phones.
According to an article over on Fierce Mobile Content, Motricity’s mCore platform powers the Verizon Mobile Web default portal that delivers “an intuitive navigation wheel for more efficient, customisable access to social media sites, email services, news and entertainment, applications and music.”
The extension of the contract is apparently a significant development for Motricity as the Big Red along with rival the Big Blue AT&T both account for 79% of Motricity’s revenues.
About 5 months after filing for a public offering intended to raise some $250 million, the company began trading on the NASDAQ Global Market in the middle of June offering six million shares of common stock at a price of $10 a share.
