iPhone 4 UK Customers Not Bothered with Reception Issue?

With all the commotion tied up with the new iPhone 4 and its antenna problem, the calls for Apple to recall the device, and the non-recommendation by Consumer Reports, are iPhone 4 owners really that put out by the issue?

Well apparently not over here in the UK they aren’t as according to Stuart Miles of Pocket-lint, they contacted O2 UK, Vodafone, Orange and even Carphone Warehouse and inquired if people were returning their iPhone 4 handsets.

The results of which seem to show that iPhone 4 users in the UK aren’t that bothered over the issue or even don’t believe there is a fault.

Apparently O2 UK has said that returns aren’t any more than usual and in line with expectations, while Vodafone says that returns of the iPhone 4 have been “tiny.” Orange didn’t come up with an official answer but Pocket-lint’s sources suggest it’s in the same strain as O2 and Vodafone.

Even Carphone Warehouse has said in terms of returns they’ve not seen anything out of the ordinary, and a spokesperson for Carphone Warehouse has said, “Trading have reported that there has not been an issue with the iPhone 4 and we aren’t seeing many returns at all, customers seem satisfied to wait for the software upgrade.”

Yes, this could be read that iPhone 4 users in the UK aren’t too bothered with the iPhone 4 reception issue, but then again it could mean that like many iPhone 4 users they are simply waiting for a response from Apple on a possible fix or have opted to purchase a case to get round the problem.

So have any of our iPhone 4 toting readers in the UK experienced the antenna problem and if so are you not bothered about it, have you purchased a case to get over the issue or are you waiting to see if Apple comes up with a proper fix?

i have reception issues, phone goes to no service when in pocket and drops calls when holding in right hand. I replaced the iphone but still having issues with later batch. I had a 2g and 3g with no reception issues in same area,

My phone in the UK has been fine with O2, drops one bar if held in the bottom left but still a brilliant phone and will not be taking it back for a refund just because of this! The benefits far outweigh the negatives!! Thats not to say it shouldn't have been present in the first place because it shouldn't but I agree it only affects people in the bad signal areas. Most colleagues i've spoken to aren't really bothered either, not that many people even know about the issue until they are told!

i use i phone 4 about two weeks, i hold left hand corner is little effect signal , but not much important, can still to talk, i use my case and put in my pocket to use bluetooth, everything ok, i dont know why America people make apple trouble, so i give i phone 4 to pass, i m not trust US consumer report…, if very bad signal, all the world people to return i phone 4..

People need to get a life. My signal has improved over my 3GS with more bars and less dropped calls in several places where I had zero signal before iPhone 4. I was not even aware of the issue until it was posted online.

People just like to complain. Its pathetic. Don’t hold your phone lime a ln idiot and it’s fine 🙂

I read all the reports prior to receiving my 4 and I was expects to see a drop in signal when I held it in the ‘death grip’ and other similar fashions. To my very pleased surprise I have noticed noticed none of the explained problems. In fact I think the 4 has better reception than the 3gs

  6. Hi, unfortunately returning an iPhone4 in the UK is a NIGHTMARE!!!
I eventually returned my iPhone4 yesterday after over two weeks of complaining: +20 phone calls to Orange and Apple, and 6 or 7 visits to the Orange UK store where I bought the phone, and a registered legal letter of complaint… All that trouble because Apple had not acknowledged it as a FAULT, which meant I could not return a phone that was "not faulty" but simply had a bit of incorrect software which was going to be fixed by an update.
Personally I am sick to death of Steve Jobs' lack of integrity, he really gives me the creeps, standing on his stage, smug and lying about his products. This time he has been caught out, claiming this phone has better reception than any of it's predecessors. Last time he was claiming the iPad was the "most advanced piece of technology he has ever worked on" LOL What a bald-faced lie- its an overgrown iPod! Im upgrading to Android. I am tired of the hype, and this disappointment takes the cake.

Or perhaps that we are all fighting a battle to try and return the phone. It is absolutely ridiculous in the UK.
