You no doubt are aware that on Friday Apple explained itself over the antenna issue with the iPhone 4 and that Apple is giving a free bumper case to every iPhone 4 user through September 30th to alleviate the issue; however apparently Consumer Reports believes Apple hasn’t gone far enough.
According to an article by Marc over on Intomobile, Consumer Reports has again commented on the iPhone 4 antenna issue and although pleased with what Apple had done to resolve the issue, Consumer Reports still will not recommend the iPhone 4.
Here’s the latest from Consumer Reports concerning the antenna issue, Apple’s moves and the iPhone 4…
“Consumer Reports believes Apple’s offer of free cases is a good first step. However, Apple has indicated that this is not a long-term solution, it has guaranteed the offer only through September 30th, and has not extended it unequivocally to customers who bought cases from third-party vendors. We look forward to a long-term fix from Apple. As things currently stand, the iPhone 4 is still not one of our recommended models.”
It appears that for Consumer Reports to fully recommend the iPhone 4 Apple is required to come up with a long term solution to the problem, which I’m not too sure they can.
