If you own an HTC Desire and desperately waiting for the Android 2.2 Froyo OS to hit your device, you may like to know that you can now have Android 2.2 on your HTC Desire although not via official means.
According to an article over on Pocket-lint there is now software called Unrevoked which went downloaded from the internet will enable the latest operating system from the Google guys to run on your HTC Desire long before HTC gets round to offering it officially.
So what is Unrevoked? Well here’s what they say…”unrevoked3 is a tool to flash a custom recovery image to your Android phone,” explains the site where you can get the all-powerful application. “A custom recovery image allows you to perform advanced tasks on the system partition, such as flashing custom ROMs and taking a full backup of your phone (a “nandroid” backup).”
Apparently Unrevoked works on the HTC Desire, HTC EVO 4G, HTC Aria, HTC Droid Eris and HTC Droid Incredible. However naturally in downloading Unrevoked and installing on your device you will no doubt void any warranty you currently have.
