After Apple chief Steve Jobs pointed the finger at several other smartphones supposedly suffering from antenna issues, namely the BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Eirs and Samsung Omnia II, Research In Motion responded unfavourably along with Nokia and HTC giving their views.
However, according to Gary over on Gizmodo by way of an article over on the Samsung Hub, Sammy has now struck back at Apple allegations over the Samsung Omnia II by stating “Receptions problems have not happened so far” on the Samsung Omnia II.
Here is the official comment from Samsung on the matter of the iPhone 4 antennagate claims when compared with the Samsung Omnia II…
“The antenna is located at the bottom of the Omnia 2 phone, while iPhone’s antenna is on the lower left side of the device. Our design keeps the distance between a hand and an antenna. We have fully conducted field tests before the rollout of smartphones. Reception problems have not happened so far, and there is no room for such problems to happen in the future”
In other words, Sammy is saying Jobs has got it wrong with the Samsung Omnia II, so who is one to believe over this antenna problem?
