The new NFL mobile application was leaked way back in April, but now apparently that app has been tossed from the Android Market and in its place is a new reworked NFL Mobile app which also plays nice on the new Motorola Droid X.

According to an article over on Droid-life, the new NFL Mobile App is now available to download from the Android Market for all you Android toting football fans out there, and it looks like the application has received a substantial upgrade.

With the NFL Mobile app for Android the user can set up alerts, their favourite team and even watch NFL RedZone on your mobile screen to get your daily NFL fix while on the go.

However, according to the article there is one drawback and that is as of the 1st September user will be required to purchase a VCAST monthly subscription to play videos at a charge of $10 a month so that may just be a deal breaker for some.
