The rumours keep coming with Android 2.2 Froyo and just when the new operating system will reach the likes of the HTC Droid Incredible, Motorola Droid and Motorola Droid X, but now there is some word if it is to be believed.

According to Kellex over on Droid-life, the guys of Android Spin are saying that what they believe is a “reliable source” with Verizon Wireless has said the Droid X, HTC Incredible and Motorola Droid could all see Android 2.2 as of next week.

Apparently the “reliable source” also said “this is not a rumour but confirmed” and that HTC and Motorola will release Android 2.2 Froyo simultaneously beginning the 6th of August.

Now of course without knowing the source we can only assume for now that this is still a rumour until such times as something official gets announced by HTC and Motorola, but for what it’s worth it does look like the devices will see Android 2.2 next Friday.
