Obviously Cricket isn’t the biggest mobile phone carrier in the mobile space, but they have now entered the Android arena by gaining their first Android based smartphone, the Kyocera Zio.
According to an article over on i4u by way of the guys over at Android and Me, Cricket Wireless will offer the Kyocera Zio as of the 15th of August and will command a price tag of somewhere between $249 and $299 when based on a $55 unlimited plan.
For that price the Kyocera Zio offers the user a 3.5 inch WVGA display, a 3.2 megapixel camera, Qualcomm 600 MHz processor and runs Android 1.6 OS with the possibility of Kyocera upgrading to Android 2x but no gurantee the Cricket Kyocera Zio will see the OS update.
