Many iPhone users complain about AT&T and its slow network which is claimed to stem from the thousands of iPhone users accessing wirelessly to data, but it appear that the Big Blue and the iPhone isn’t the top dog when it comes to data access, as a study has shown that AT&T’s closest rival, Verizon and its smartphone users have now overtaken AT&T’s iPhone users when it comes to data usage.
According to an article over on CRN by Joseph F. Kovar, a new study which is to be released in September by Validas, a provider of tech which helps user to analyse wireless bills so they can find the best plans, shows that the Big Red, when it comes to the amount of data accessed, grew the fastest of any smartphone users.
In a blog post earlier this week, Validas stated that as a result “Verizon smartphone users will likely overtake iPhone users in terms of wireless data access.”
The study has been based on analysis of in excess of 20 thousand consumer wireless bills between the months of January and May, however wireless data access by BlackBerry users was omitted due to the compression tech which BlackBerry smartphones use.
However Verizon’s average smartphone wireless data use stands at 421MB per month while AT&T’s iPhone users use 338MB per month. Although when it comes to all smartphone handset users, AT&T still comes out as the overall leader in terms of data access by smartphones.
