As we are all familiar now with the Motorola Droid 2 as it seems that is all we’ve been hearing about over the internet over the past few weeks.

Now though it has been reported over at eurodroid that it has today been made official which has been confirmed by both Motorola and its exclusive US network partner Verizon.

For those of you that are not familiar with what the Droid 2 will be bringing with it we can look forward to Android 2.2 along with Flash Player 10.1 onboard as default from the start. It has a 5 megapixel camera and alternate keyboard Swype installed to make messaging easier, and sports a 3.7 inch screen.

Droid 2 is going to be available from Verizon wireless from August 11th and in Verizon stores from the 12th for $199.99 after a $100 mail in rebate and a fresh two year contract.
