This is probably of no use to those iPhone fans that have rushed out and brought the iPhone 4, or even iPhone 3GS owners, but apparently if you still own an iPhone 3G and want to jailbreak the device the word is the current edition of the redsn0w solution works very well.
According to an article over on Engadget by Chris Ziegler, the guys over at Redmond Pie have posted a how to guide on using redsn0w, which apparently can jailbreak the iPhone 3G, and 2nd generation iPod Touch running iOS 4.0.2, but not the iPhone 3GS unfortunately.
You are probably aware that when Apple pushed out iOS 4.0.2 the upgrade patched the JalibreakMe PDF exploit, yet for some strange reason iOS 4.0.2 still allows redsn0w to perform its jailbreak action although on Apple gear that is old.
However the jailbreaking battle between Apple and jailbreak solution makers will still continue and I’m sure at some stage or another people such as the iPhone Dev Team will crack iOS 4.0.2 given time.
