Android Patent Infringement Lawsuit by Oracle, Google Responds
As I previously reported, tech giant Oracle has filed a lawsuit against Google over Android patent infringements, you can read that article by hitting (here), and now Google has responded to Oracle’s accusations and has made it quite clear they will hold their ground.
According to an article over on Mashable by Ben Parr, Google has made a statement to Mashable saying…“We are disappointed Oracle has chosen to attack both Google and the open-source Java community with this baseless lawsuit.”
The Google statement went on to say…“The open-source Java community goes beyond any one corporation and works every day to make the web a better place. We will strongly defend open-source standards and will continue to work with the industry to develop the Android platform.”
This response by Google shouldn’t come as a big surprise as if they intimated they did anything wrong with Android it could potentially end up costing the company a huge amount of cash. No doubt Google will defend the lawsuit by arguing Java is open source software and thus they haven’t committed and patent infringement.
