The processor chip to have in smartphones these days is of course a Snapdragon from Qualcomm, with the 1GHz and 1.2GHz chips, but what about the future of the smartphone chip surely they have to get faster?
Well according to an article over on Gizmodo by Kat Hannaford and by way of Computer World, Qualcomm is gearing up to push out a new 1.5GHz dual core chip apparently from the end of this year.
Mark Frankel, the vice president of product management for Qualcomm outed the 1.5GHz dual core QSD8672 chip which apparently supports DDR2, DDR3, DDR4, HDMI components and 1080p playback.
Apparently this new 1.5GHz chip for smartphones and tablets isn’t expected to hit until sometime in early 2011 but word has it there is a possibility that the Qualcomm chip just might show up in a couple of produced before Christmas this year.
