The HTC Desire is supposed to be getting the Android 2.2 aka Froyo update anytime now and Vodafone is notifying disgruntled Desire users of the timescale, apparently telling them that the update will be within days and not weeks.

Well the latest news via EuroDroid states that the HTC Desire is now currently in it final stages of approval for the new software update, Google and HTC is giving it the final once over to make sure all is running well.

Vodafone says: We’re still developing and testing the Android 2.2 update for HTC Desire and working on its approval with Google and HTC. The start of the roll out is days, not weeks away and as soon as the date is finalised we’ll let you know.

Hopefully when they say weeks they actually mean within a week, of course we will keep you posted and as soon as the new update for the HTC Desire with Vodafone is released we will be here reporting on it.
