Sticking with the tradition of naming their Android operating system update after delicacies it appears that Google has come up with a name for the next iteration of the popular OS and will be known as Android Honeycomb.
According to an article over on Techradar by Gareth Beavis, “multiple sources” have confirmed the Honeycomb name; however details of what the honeycomb upgrade will offer to the Android platform is somewhat sketchy.
The article says that Honeycomb will probably be an incremental upgrade much like Android 2.2 Froyo was to Android 2.1, which basically means Honeycomb will more than likely be Android 3.1 or 3.2 rather than a full-fledged Android 4.0.
They did apparently contact Google inquiring about the Honeycomb tag, but as expected Google kept tight lipped on the matter, anyone have any guesses what Android Honeycomb may deliver?
