iPhone 4 Physical QWERTY Sliding Keyboard Concept Design

If you are anything like me you have issues with using a virtual keyboard, it’s one of the main reasons I don’t have an iPhone as I often find that trying to hit the right keys on a virtual keyboard usually ends with hitting a damn incorrect key.

However, although the iPhone doesn’t feature a physical keyboard, an article over on Ubergizmo shows that a designer over at Yanko Design has come up with a rather interesting sliding physical QWERTY concept for the iPhone 4.

Apparently the physical keyboard slides over the iPhone 4 virtual keyboard and once docked would disable the virtual one, and the metal bands of the sliding QWERTY would act much like an Apple Bumper case.

However, the designer makes no mention if this new sliding QWERTY concept for the iPhone 4 would solve the antenna issues like a bumper does, neat idea though, what do you think?

That would be pretty cool, its nice to have that keyboard Vs. an on screen keyboard. However if Apple ever put that in its new phones it would make them much bigger.

I would pay for one that was the same dimensions as the i4 as long as it did not cover the screen and was not in portrait.

ie landscape querti Bluetooth or wifi

Built in arial and physical resistance buttons, folding or sliding mechanics.
