Developing smartphone applications is all well and good but eventually developers don’t really just what to do it as a hobby they would like to make a few bucks from their apps now and again, well now apparently BlackBerry app developers can.
According to an article over on Engadget Mobile by Chris Ziegler, Research In Motion has now announced BlackBerry developers will be able to charge for their apps with a charging range from $0.99 up to $1.99 a pop.
The article reckons the BlackBerry maker has gone this route in order to keep crappy apps from BlackBerry App World as they have probably discovered developers with good applications go the volume route rather than the margin, and they think this is probably a quick and simple way to gain more interest in porting good apps to BlackBerry 6.
Besides why shouldn’t developers make a buck or two from their apps for the BlackBerry operating system, iPhone does it, Android does it, so now BlackBerry does too.
