Motorola Milestone Canada Android 2.2 Froyo Release Date

The latest news in surrounding the Motorola Milestone is for all those that live in Canada; reports have just come in about the handsets Android 2.2 Froyo update.

The Android 2.2 Froyo update will be available for the Motorola Milestone smartphone the 1st quarter of 2011, it is a long way of before it releases but at least you know it is coming, let’s just hope you can be patient enough to wait for it because I would not be.

You can read more about this via the Motorola Support Forums and Droid-Life, things seem to taking its toll at the moment, you know the HTC Droid Incredible had delays shipping, then the Motorola Droid X shipping has been delayed once again and now the Moto Milestone will not receive the much wanted Android update until at least 2011.

Please let us know what you think of the Motorola Milestone and please do share with us if you think a 2011 Android 2.2 Froyo release is to far away.

Wow, after all the hype of the froyo update and what it could do for the milestone handset im very dissapointed that the release date is so far. I would have expected it sooner, especially with the release of the Iphone 4. Maybe its time to reconsider and just go for the iphone. They seem to be more up to date with releases and seem to have the jump on anyone else when it comes to new products.

I cannot believe the horrible support that Motorola is providing for their devices. They've already got Froyo on devices that were released AFTER the Milestone. I am extremely dissapointed in Motorola. I'm actually buying out of the contract on the phone and getting an iPhone.

Well the same hardware was updated in Europe and the US so I think blame for the delay is more likely the carrier’s fault. Tis Telus that sucks I think.

  4. I like the phone for the most part, but the 150Mb of internal memory is a drag. Must get the 2.2 update so I can save apps to SD card asap! I prefer the interface to that of my partner's Samsung Galaxy S… but the phone has its limitations… clock speed, limited HDMI etc…

Welcome to corporate/closed/commercial world you opensource fellows… Why would Motorola update Milestones when they can sell you the very same phone with a different name (Milestone 2) with Android 2.2 on it?

If you can profit on something, why make that something free?
