So you own a Motorola Droid 2 and have been patiently waiting for a root method to come about, well it looks like your waiting has finally come to an end as an how to root the Droid 2 has now shown up online.
According to an article over on Engadget by Chris Ziegler, the hacking guys over at XDA-developers now have a Droid 2 root process posted which if you follow the instructions should root your Droid 2 device.
However as usual take care because the first line of that post does say that you proceed at your own risk. Basically to get the root done you need to tether your Droid 2 to a PC and transfer some binaries, but apparently looks straightforward enough.
Obviously once Motorola know of this root for the Droid 2 they will no doubt push out a patch in their next over the air update, so if you do go the root route keep an eye on any updates if you wish to keep it. The full process can be obtained by hitting up XDA-developers.
