New HTC 7 Trophy Handset Gains Approval by GCF Possible WP7 Device
Well what do we have here, it looks like a new device is on its way from HTC that could be a new Windows Phone 7 smartphone and is called the HTC 7 Trophy, and said handset has now gained approval from the Global Certification Forum.
According to an article over on Softpedia by Ionut Arghire, the Global Certification Forum docs doesn’t actually offer up any details on the HTC 7 Trophy or which platform it will actually sport, but it does show that the new device will be quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band UNTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 900/2100.
The fact that the HTC 7 Trophy carries that 7 in its handle doesn’t mean it will be a WP7 device though as it could also mean it might be an Android or even a Brew MP handset, but basing it on the connectivity they say the device is probably destined for Europe and Asia but not North America.
Although there is no confirmation from HTC or Microsoft as to just what this HTC 7 Trophy is all about as it’s popping up now it could well be placed in line with the other news coming out about WP7 going RTM, so there’s always a possibility.
