It seems a couple of smartphone makers are using IFA 2010 to show off new wears, with the Samsung i5510 being sported at the event and now Chinese telecom giant Huawei has used the event for the debut of their latest smartphone, the Kuawei Ideos.
The guys from Engadget are at IFA in Berlin and managed to grab a little hands-on time with the new Huawei Idoes and they say they are impressed and that the company had put in considerable effort into engineering the device so it won’t fall apart in your grip but is quite an affordable handset.
According to Hauwei, the Ideos is “the world’s first affordable smartphone” which is somewhat of a claim, but apparently the Ideos will hit somewhere between $100 and $200 in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America, unsubsidised.
So what does the Hauwei Ideos offer? Well there’s a 2.8 inch capacitive QVGA display, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 3G, WiFi, mobile hotspot for up to 8 devices, and comes packing Android 2.2 Froyo, and apparently will become available in blue, black, purple and yellow.
