While undoubtedly the mobile applications arena is dominated by Apple and their App Store, along with Google and the Android Market, Research In Motion’s BlackBerry App World is slowly gaining app quantity.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo, BlackBerry maker Research In Motion has announced that Blackberry App World now offers over 10,000 apps for BlackBerry smartphone users, which is something of a milestone.

Apparently Research In Motion’s next move is to make sure the quality of available app in BlackBerry App World are all up to standards and hopefully in the future they will be able to mount a strong challenge to rival app stores.

10,000 apps is quite a number and does give the user a wide choice, but RIM definitely has a long, long way to go before it can get anywhere near the quantities offered by Android and the iPhone.
