There have been several rumours of late that Nokia was looking to replace their current CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo who has been with Nokia for some 30 years. Well apparently those rumours were right on the money as Kallasvuo is being dumped.
According to an article over on Engadget by Thomas Ricker, Kallasvuo will make way for a new Nokia president and CEO in the form of Canadian Stephen Elop the head of Microsoft’s Business Division.
Word has it Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo will vacate his position on the 20th of this month, although he will continue to chair the board of Nokia Siemans Networks.
Stephen Elop has said… “I am extremely excited to become part of a team dedicated to strengthening Nokia’s position as the undisputed leader of the mobile communications industry.”
