The other day we posted an article concerning Bing becoming the default search preference for a Android devices on the Verizon network, you can refresh you memory on that by hitting up (here) however the Big Red says otherwise.
According to an article over on Engadget by Chris Ziegler, and by way of The Droid Guy, apparently Verizon has said it is false and said…”…that is not true. We have a relationship with Microsoft and Bing is the search engine on our multi-media phones but we have never said it would be exclusive on all of our devices.”
So it looks like the Big Red will be using Microsoft’s Bing on their high end feature phones and possibly mid segment smartphones but not on every Android smartphone as previously rumoured, and they could be keeping Google Search for the top of the range devices.
According to the article, Microsoft has also confirmed by saying “the deal for Verizon Android devices is not exclusive.” Verizon has also that the revamps Google Search box will be available to the Samsung Fascinate once the device hits Android 2.2.
