I’m pretty sure every iPhone owner has heard of Cydia, it’s the iOS jailbreak applications store, where those with jailbroken iPhone units can get their apps from. Well apparently Cydia has just got a whole lot bigger in being able to supply jailkbreak apps.
According to an article over on Gizmodo by Jack Loftus, and by way of Modmyi, Cydia has now acquired the jailbreak app store Rock and is starting to roll in Rock’s entire app store users into the Cydia system.
Apparently Cydia’s acquisition follows several months of talks between Cydia’s John Freeman and Mario Ciabarra of Rock and apparently the final deal was signed on the evening of the 10th of September.
Word has it over time all of Rock’s customers will be required to create a Cydia login if they wish to continue buying applications as all Rock apps will be merged into Cydia as soon as possible.
