You may already be aware that Google Search can be downloaded to the new Samsung Fascinate on the Verizon network once it is updated to Android 2.2 Froyo. However apparently you can get Google Search on your Samsung Fascinate right now.
According to an article over on NYnewspost, there is a tutorial on how to gain Google Search on the Samsung Fascinate and doesn’t require rooting and is fairly simple.
Basically what you need to do is download the Enhanced Google Search provider APK which can be obtained from Android Central then you’ll need to place the file on an SD card and continue its install via a file manager. Lastly you can user a 3rd-part launcher such as Launcher Pro or ADW and the Google search widget has to be taken back to the home screen and again for the search button a third-party launcher would be needed.
So do you have a Samsung Fascinate and fancy having a go at getting Google Search onto the device without Android 2.2? If so feel free to let us know if this works, and we’d also love to hear your personal reviews of the Galaxy S device as well, many thanks.
