Apparently T-Mobile USA is blocking access to the T-Mobile network for Ez Texting, a New York based company which helps companies send marketing text messages. Word has it T-Mobile USA blocked the sending of text messages due to one of Ez Texting clients sending info on medial marijuana,
According to an article over on Ubergizmo, T-Mobile USA blocked access when they learned about an Ez Texting client describing itself as “a community where medical marijuana patients connect with other patients in their geographic region to freely discuss and review local cannabis co-operatives, dispensaries, medical doctors, and delivery services.”
Thus T-Mobile USA’s blocking action has caused EZ Texting to sue T-Mobile with the suit claiming T-Mobile halted the service even after Ez Texting halted their service to the client, and Ez Texting is claiming that if T-Mobile USA continues to block access they will go out of business.
Furthermore the situation is somewhat compounded by the client actually caters for people in states where medical marijuana is legal. So if the texts are going to people in states where medial marijuana is legal should T-Mobile USA have blocked the service?
