A while ago Google delivered Google Earth Ocean View to the Android platform which enabled Android users to explore this world’s oceans if you own an Android 2.1 or later smartphone. Well now Google has announced Google Earth Ocean View for iOS.
According to an article over on Intomobile by Kelly Hodgkins and by way of the Google Mobile Blog, the latest version of Google Earth is for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and features the new ocean view.
With Google Earth ocean view the user can explore such things below the water as trenches, mountain ranges and underwater canyons and the iOS version is quite similar to the Android version, with hundreds of photos and videos being contributed to enhance the experience.
The new iOS version of Google Earth has been optimised for the iPhone Retina Display while navigation in ocean view enables the user to use swipe gestures to move around while if the user wonders off course the compass will reset the view. For those wishing to use Google Earth 3.1 for iOS they can download it for free from the App Store.
