Well now here’s a bit of news for the BlackBerry faithful, you know that BlackBerry PlayBook tablet Research In Motion unveiled at Devcon 2010, it sported the QNX operating system, well word it QNX is in and BlackBerry OS is out.
According to an article over on Intomobile by Simon Sage, a Research In Motion VP has confirmed that the QNX OS will be finding its way onto BlackBerry smartphones eventually and ultimately replace BlackBerry OS.
The article doesn’t exactly say who the RIM VP is that has supposedly confirmed the move to QNX OS in future, but no doubt if true the transition from BlackBerry OS over to QNX OS is going to be somewhat lengthy a task to say the least.
Having said that, it’s not that much of a surprise that RIM would move over to QNX OS considering the operating system seems to be more stable, efficient, and low power consuming along with a large developer platform support and rich multimedia capabilities.
