After Apple throwing their toys out of their pram over Google Voice apps and ejecting said apps from the App Store, Apple has relented some and has allowed 3rd-party Google Voice apps back into the sanctity of the iPhone app store.
However thus far no official Google Voice iPhone app has been sanctioned by Apple, or has it? According to an article over on Gizmodo by Rosa Golijan, the guys over at Techcrunch are reporting that Apple may have already given their approval for the official Google Voice app.
Here’s what Techcrunch are reporting, “TechCrunch has] gotten word that the official Google Voice application is on its way to the iPhone in the next few weeks. In fact, [they’ve] heard from a source close to Google that it’s already been approved – Google just needs to revamp the application to work with the iPhone 4 and iOS’s multitasking capabilities.”
So it would appear if true then iPhone users may soon be able to download the official Google Voice for iPhone application which is good news as the official version will offer so much more that 3rd-party versions.
