If any iPhone user has been waiting for Mozilla Firefox to come to the iPhone it looks like you are going to be somewhat disappointed. As Opera Mini managed to break down the Apple App Store barriers the way ahead for Firefox to come to the iPhone should have been clear but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to an article over on Ubergizmo, Mozilla developers have now confirmed that there will be no version of Firefox for the iPhone as technical and logistical restrictions make it difficult.
Rather than have a Firefox for iPhone, iPhone users will have to rely on Firefox Home to deliver the experience of Firefox to iOS devices.
Although difficult, the developers have said it is not impossible to build a full Firefox browser for the iPhone, but it seems it isn’t worth the effort. Still other than Opera Mini for the iPhone, users can still opt for Safari, or perhaps Skyfire if or when Apple accepts the submitted application.
