Apparently there have been a couple of rumours floating around that the Motorola Droid R2D2 Special Edition smartphone for Verizon Wireless is clocked at 1.2 GHz, and the answer to that rumour is that it has been found out to be untrue.
According to the guys over at Droid-life, the Droid R2D2 Special Edition handset is clocked at 1 GHz the same as the original Droid 2, although they do believe it could change at some point with an update being the Droid 2 Global has the same processor but clocked at 1.2 GHz.
They have also given the Droid R2D2 Special Edition some hands-on attention at a Verizon store in Portland before launch and recorded the event which we have for your viewing pleasure below and lasts just over four and a half minutes.
In the video we get to see the Droid R2D2 special edition boot up and the new lock screen especially for this Star Wars edition smartphone, so I’ll just let you head on down and check the footage out for yourselves…enjoy.
