If by any chance you were of a mind to jailbreak your new T-mobile G2 smartphone to make some modifications think against buster, because apparently there’s no chance of jailbreaking the T-Mobile G2 as it ships with a rootkit which overrides any changes.
According to an article over on Gizmodo by Brain Barrett, an article on The New American Foundation says “one of the microchips embedded into the G2 prevents device owners from making permanent changes that allow custom modifications to the Android operating system.”
So basically if you try to modify your T-Mobile G2 in any way, the rootkit will automatically override everything and reinstall the original Android firmware back on your T-Mobile G2, so looks like HTC and T-Mobile don’t want anyone playing with the handset.
However, no doubt as with all things these techs come up with to stop users modifying a device, some clever clogs will eventually find a workaround.
